Community Guidelines

Last updated: March 11, 2026

nextround works because candidates share honest experiences with each other. These guidelines exist to keep the platform accurate, fair, and useful for everyone. Please read them before submitting your first review.

What makes a great review

The best reviews are specific, first-hand, and written with the next candidate in mind. A great review helps someone understand exactly what to expect before they walk into that interview room.

  • Based on your direct, personal experience with the interview process at that company
  • Describes the actual structure: number of rounds, types of interviews, timeline from application to decision
  • Rates the experience honestly — positive, negative, or mixed
  • Shares what questions were asked (as best as you can recall, without violating NDAs)
  • Notes what interviewers were like: responsive, technical depth, communication style
  • Mentions the outcome: whether you received an offer, and your overall impression
  • Written with constructive intent — even critical reviews should help the reader, not just vent

What does not belong

The following content will be removed and may result in account suspension:

Personal attacks on individuals

Criticism of interviewers must focus on behavior, not personal characteristics. Never name individual interviewers or include details that could identify a specific person.

Confidential or proprietary information

Do not disclose trade secrets, internal systems, unreleased products, specific technical assessment content, or anything you were asked to keep confidential.

Fabricated or misleading reviews

Reviews must be based on your genuine, first-hand experience. Do not write reviews for companies you did not interview at, or exaggerate or distort your experience.

Discriminatory or hateful content

Content that attacks, demeans, or discriminates against individuals or groups based on race, gender, sexual orientation, age, religion, disability, national origin, or other protected characteristics is not permitted.

Spam and promotional content

Reviews must not promote services, products, websites, or contain referral codes. Do not submit multiple reviews of the same company.

Legally sensitive claims

Do not present false claims as fact, make unsubstantiated allegations of illegal activity, or post statements that could expose you or nextround to legal liability.

Private information about others

Do not include names, email addresses, phone numbers, social media profiles, or other personally identifying information about interviewers or company employees.

Salary and compensation

Salary data is one of the most valuable things candidates can share. When submitting salary information:

  • Only share figures that were part of an actual offer you received
  • Do not share salary ranges shared by the company under a confidentiality agreement
  • Include total compensation (base + equity + bonus) when possible for full context
  • Be as specific as you are comfortable being — even ranges are helpful

Salary data is visible to signed-in nextround members. Signed-out visitors see this field blurred.

How moderation works

nextround uses a combination of automated systems and human review to maintain content quality.

Report
Any user can report a review by clicking the flag icon. Reports prompt human review.
Auto-flag
Reviews that receive 3 or more reports from different users are automatically hidden pending review.
Human review
Our moderation team reviews flagged content and decides: restore (false positive), edit, or remove.
Account action
Repeated violations result in content removal, account warnings, suspension, or permanent ban depending on severity.

Consequences of violations

Violations of these guidelines are handled progressively based on severity and frequency:

  1. Content removal — the offending review or content is removed, no account action
  2. Warning — you are notified of the violation and reminded of the guidelines
  3. Temporary suspension — your account is suspended for a period (typically 7–30 days)
  4. Permanent ban — your account is permanently removed for severe or repeated violations

Severe violations (doxxing, targeted harassment, legal threats) may result in immediate permanent bans and, where applicable, referral to law enforcement.

A note on employer conduct

Employers, HR professionals, and company representatives may not use nextround to:

  • Identify or attempt to identify the authors of anonymous reviews
  • Retaliate against employees or former candidates based on suspected reviews
  • Submit fake positive reviews of their own company (“astroturfing”)
  • Submit false negative reviews of competing companies
  • Pressure, threaten, or incentivize candidates to post or remove reviews

Violations of this policy may result in the company being flagged on the Platform and legal action where applicable. If you experience any of the above, please contact us at legal@nxtrnd.io.

Questions or concerns?

If you have questions about these guidelines, want to appeal a moderation decision, or want to report a serious violation, contact us at trust@nxtrnd.io. We review all appeals and will respond within 5 business days.
